Choosing your child’s dentist is an important task that can lead to a lifetime commitment. As pediatric dentists, Dr. Bouwens, Dr. Bolt, Dr. Sayre and Dr. Biddle, and their dental staff understand this and treat each child as a unique individual rather than just a random patient.
Thomas Bouwens, DDS, MBA
Dr. Tom Bouwens grew up in Zeeland. He graduated from Hope College with a degree in chemistry. He then went on to attend the University of Michigan for Dental School and completed his residency in pediatric dentistry at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Tom joined West Michigan Pediatric Dentistry in 2007. In 2008, he became board certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He is on active staff at DeVos Children’s Hospital, Holland Hospital and Zeeland Community Hospital.
Tom lives in Zeeland with his wife Teresa and their three children, Gabriel, Lydia, and Elijah. He is actively involved in his church and in his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, being outdoors, and running.
Daniel Bolt, DDS
Dr. Daniel Bolt was born and raised in Grand Rapids. He graduated from Calvin College and went on to the University of Michigan Dental School. Dan also completed his pediatric dentistry residency at the University of Michigan, and joined West Michigan Pediatric Dentistry in 2001.
Dan and his wife Kate live in Holland with their three children, Jack, Willem, and Vivian. Dan enjoys cycling, scuba diving, and hanging out with Kate, Jack, Willem, and Vivian in his spare time.
Dan has served on the board of the Boy’s and Girl’s Club of Holland, and is currently on the Ottawa County Head Start health advisory board. He and his wife have served on the Holland Area Young Life Committee. He is also on active staff at Holland Hospital.
Joel Sayre, DDS
Dr. Joel Sayre was born and raised in Montana, where he graduated from the University of Montana. He went on to dental school, attending Oregon Health Sciences University and graduated in 2000. Dr. Sayre completed a general practice residency at the University of Minnesota and then practiced general dentistry for three years in Washington and Colorado. In 2004, Dr. Sayre recognized that he enjoyed caring for children and returned to school, specializing in children’s dentistry. He graduated from the pediatric dental residency at UCLA in Los Angeles, California in 2006 and moved his young family to Bozeman, Montana where he founded a pediatric dental practice. He grew the business into a thriving practice and became very involved in the community, while also obtaining his board certification by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. After over 10 years of service, he sold his practice in Bozeman and took a sabbatical to spend more time with his family and re-evaluate his life ambitions.
Joel and his wife, Kristin, have been married 17 years and have four children, Clarissa, Grayson, Clayton and Chet. They are an active family, spending their time outdoors while enjoying a variety of sports.
Morgan Biddle, DDS, MS
Morgan Biddle is a board eligible pediatric dentist and was born and raised in Clear Lake, Iowa. She then spent 8 years in Iowa City at the University of Iowa where she received her undergraduate degree in integrative physiology with a minor in chemistry before graduating from dental school. She then moved to Chapel Hill, North Carolina where she completed her pediatric dental residency, prior to moving to Michigan, where she joined WMPD in July of 2020. Morgan is on active staff at DeVos Children’s Hospital and Holland Hospital.
Morgan and her husband Scott live in Holland along with their two rescue cats, Otis and Leo. Together, they enjoy traveling and exploring new cities, spending time outdoors, and bowling in their weekly bowling league.
